Who are we?

The Young AI Leaders Community is grounded in the belief that the future of AI depends not just on the progress of technology but on the values and vision of those who shape it. At the Gaborone Hub, we are committed to empowering emerging talent with the knowledge, platforms, and support needed to champion ethical, inclusive, and socially impactful AI.

Our focus is on cultivating a collaborative and diverse environment where innovation thrives. With access to mentorship, resources, and global networks, young leaders in our community are equipped to turn bold ideas into transformative solutions. As part of the global AI for Good movement, the Gaborone Hub is creating a space where youth-led initiatives can thrive, driving meaningful change and helping address Botswana’s and Africa’s most pressing challenges through responsible AI.

The Young AI Leaders community is an initiative by AI for Good. AI for Good is organized by ITU in partnership with over 40 UN Sister Agencies and co-convened with the Government of Switzerland. AI for Good is identifying trustworthy AI applications, building skills and standards, and advancing AI governance for sustainable development.
